To address the climate-migration nexus and provide solutions to challenges which can occur throughout the different stages of the migration cycle, a multitude of context-specific approaches is necessary. In places of arrival, this includes training opportunities but also affordable housing options in urban areas. Buildings need to become climate proof, meaning that they have to be able to withstand more weather extremes or be adaptive to sea level rise. Awareness raising about locally led adaptation options can be important also for sending areas, in order to enable people who do not wish to migrate to stay. The cultural sector can herein play an important role. This chapter also discusses the links of gender inequality and racism to climate-related displacements. These dimensions require consideration when assessing possible solution pathways.
