This study aims to develop supplementary teaching software for Five-Animal Exercises, a traditional Chinese fitness method, using the YOLOv8 algorithm. As science and technology advance, modernizing traditional gongfu teaching is essential. YOLOv8, an efficient deep learning algorithm for image processing, enhances the accuracy and interactivity of Five-Animal Exercises by recognizing and correcting movements. By analyzing these movement characteristics, we designed a multi-platform application that allows users to learn basic moves, receive real-time camera feedback for self-correction, and improve their skills. This approach not only enhances traditional fitness gongfu teaching but also promotes the modern dissemination of Chinese culture.
