In today’s face-paced world access to information is crucial to the success of organizations from both private, public, and government sectors. With the ever-growing demand for information to be readily available in today’s world, growing organizations may be at a point where the implementation of an information security management plan has become a necessity. One of the primary reasons for hesitation may be the lack of knowledge of where to begin or the cost of implementing such a plan in the organization. We investigate popular information management frameworks such as the ISO 27000 and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications along with their ability to meet the needs of a growing organization.
