The onboarding of employees emphasizes the importance of integrating them into the organizations’ culture. An organization’s ethical culture should be presented to new hires during their onboarding experience. This makes it imperative for virtuous organizations interested in employee engagement, commitment, and retention to have an ethical onboarding process. This paper outlines strategies through which an organization can strengthen and promote an ethical culture with the aim of improving employee engagement and behaviors. A review of existing literature and previous works by other authors show that there is a gap in the understanding of the ramifications of ethical onboarding starting day one. This understanding is vital in organizations with a strong emphasis on employee value. The findings imply that when employees emphasize ethical culture integration, they do not only enhance their levels of engagement but also the effectiveness of the organization as a whole. Such organizations train employees to retain the organizations values while embodying a positive work ethic.
