Needle aponeurotomy is a safe and effective method of treating Dupuytren’s contracture that is associated with high rates of patient satisfaction [40]. It is cost effective [3, 23], and can be repeated safely in the setting of recurrence [43, 44, 46]. The procedure may be performed in an outpatient office setting under local intradermal anesthetic. This chapter will focus on the technical pearls of successfully performing needle aponeurotomy. Postoperative splinting is currently controversial and may be useful in certain situations. Skin tears may occur and may be successfully managed with local wound care.
