Cost Assessments and Considerations
摘要
Intervention for Dupuytren’s disease may be necessary to restore hand mobility and quality of life for affected individuals. However, in an era of rising healthcare costs and out-of-pocket costs for patients, it is essential for hand surgeons to consider the economic implications of a treatment option among other clinical tradeoffs. This chapter highlights costs and effectiveness of treatments related to Dupuytren’s disease treatment. By understanding the economic aspects of treatment, surgeons can have more informed discussions with patients so that treatments are best aligned with the values and preferences of patients.
