The Concept of a Web App to Find Educational VR Apps
摘要
The integration of virtual reality (VR) into higher education has great potential, such as enhancing the understanding of complex concepts. However, university lecturers struggle to find suitable VR applications due to inadequate filters in app stores. To address this challenge, we developed a concept of a publicly accessible overview suitable for Information Systems education, based on metadata. We identified nine VR applications through a systematic search of five common app stores. We classified and coded them by deductively applying an existing taxonomy and inductively deriving new metadata categories. The results are presented as a web app so that university lecturers can search for VR applications tailored to their specific educational needs. For researchers, the defined metadata attributes serve as a foundation for developing web-based platforms where educational VR apps can be effectively searched and filtered according to academic requirements. For practitioners, the web app provides a practical tool to find VR applications that align with their teaching objectives.
