This chapter is devoted to the class of functions the whole book is focused at: 1-Lipschitz p-adic functions. As we have explained before, these functions can also be called causal, automatic, non-expansive, or compatible since all these classes of functions coincide. That is why in what follows, we often use these terms as synonyms. We mostly (but not always) assume that 1-Lipschitz functions are integer-valuedInteger-valued function-adic function– integer-valued functions; that is, they map \(\mathbb Z_p^n\) into \(\mathbb Z_p^m\) .
