There are over 30 types of muscular dystrophies and many other muscle disorders. This chapter will focus on the more prevalent muscular disorders including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and Spinal Muscular Atrophy. With advancements in treatment, patients with these diseases have better prognoses and longer life expectancies. This chapter will highlight the impairments, disease progression, and comorbidities that these children regularly face. It will also highlight pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions that can help these students.
