With the rise of digital resources in the current world, social media has rapidly become one of the most common sources of entertainment in the lives of students, influencing their relationships with others and personal development. As the world has shifted into an online-based society, social media has become more relevant to these students than ever before. In this chapter we will discuss some of the positive and negative impacts of social media on the lives of children and adolescents. We will also discuss recommendations and resources for both clinicians, parents, and caregivers.
