Empirical research conducted on existing facilities (sidewalks, stairs, pedestrian crossings, etc.) makes it possible to determine the basic parameters of pedestrian traffic and pedestrian behavior. The article presents the results of field tests of selected pedestrian traffic parameters, which were carried out on a pedestrian drawbridge over the Motława River in Gdańsk. This research facility is characterized by high values of pedestrian intensity and density occurring in the initial period after the opening of the drawbridge. The research presented in the article is part of a database which, in the course of further work, will constitute an element for building a model of the fundamental QP-VP-DP relationship of pedestrians.
