Sociomapping: A Digital 3D Model for Collaborative Learning and Well-Being
摘要
The aim of this paper is to identify, analyze and visualize the social relationships in a group of students of the practical teaching programe through sociomapping. Furthermore, based on the results of the survey, to present recommendations to academic staff to provide conditions or professional intervention for the development of collaborative learning, effective communication and well-being. The empirical survey demonstrated the effectiveness of the 3D sociomapping method, as the visualization of the digital map corresponded with the data obtained through a questionnaire survey focused on the emotional climate and well-being in the classroom. The sample of respondents indicated: (a) two reference groups and their leaders (sociomap); (b) group members perceive each other as a close-knit class and meeting with classmates contributes to mood improvement (well-being in the classroom); (c) group members reflect a high intensity of positive emotions and a low intensity of negative emotions (emotional climate in the classroom). Based on the results of the sociomap, teachers can appropriately create student teams, integrate less engaged students, suitably distribute team tasks, and develop collaborative learning while building a positive emotional climate in the classroom.
