This chapter reviews a new phenomenon happening in workplaces today, cyberloafing. Cyberloafing involves the use of personal Internet use while at work. This practice has been viewed as primarily non-productive and distracting, although recent studies have shown some benefits. Due to differences in technology exposure, generational differences may exist in cyberloafing. Patient safety concerns have been raised around cyberloafing with healthcare practitioners, especially with the increase in burnout. Mitigation strategies will be reviewed.
