Is Cosmic Anisotropy an Emergent Phenomenon?
摘要
We discuss some approaches to the problem of modelling cosmic anisotropy. We review the concept of emergence in cosmology, focusing in particular on Buchert’s averaging-based procedure, and show how it may be useful for describing anisotropy. Finally, we introduce an emergence-based mechanism that may be able to generate anisotropy from non-linear structures in the late Universe, without requiring substantial anisotropy to be present at early times.
