Despite the abundance of clinical data supporting the use of the stent-grafts in the treatment of a variety of abdominal and thoracic pathologies, there are few investigations regarding these devices following adverse events. This chapter reports detailed analyses of two clinical cases. The first patient was a 66-year-old female with a juxtarenal aneurysm and was first implanted a SETA-Latecba stent-graft and then with a tapered Medtronic-Endurant stent-graft because of migration at 6 months and type I endoleak at 12 months. Both devices were explanted at 62 months at a successful conversion to open surgery. Analysis confirmed the lack of bio-incorporation of the devices. The Palmaz stents were irregularly deployed. The fabric of the stent-graft was dilated and severely damaged with tears and holes. The second patient was 65-year old with a prior history of abdominal aortic aneurysm and was implanted a SETA-Latecba device for 38 months. The deployment of the stent-graft was followed by episodes of type Ia endoleak, migration and graft collapse. The patient passed away after 32 months of implantation. Analysis of the explanted devices illustrated the weakness of the conformability to the host arteries together with the single jersey fabric dilatation.
