Extraction of the mandibular third molar is generally performed for the relatively younger generation. Occasionally, the elderly patients require the extraction of the third molar for prevention of the oral infection such as preoperative management of the fracture treatment. The prevalence of systemic disease can increase with aging so the elderly patient perioperative management would be more complicated. The patient’s medical history and degree of invasion need to be considered.
