Knowledge of the regional anatomy of the third mandibular molar is important for extraction of this tooth, especially, when it is impacted. The morphology of the mandible and the structure of the surrounding soft tissues are very complicated, and this anatomy can be challenging to visualize. In this chapter, the anatomy associated with the mandibular third molar will be discussed.
