Climate change and natural resource management (NRM) are closely interrelated. The growing global demand for energy and resources has intensified the extraction and use of natural assets, leading to increased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. At the same time, the effects of climate change have become more apparent, threatening ecosystems and economies reliant on these resources. Whenever natural resources like coal, natural fumes, and oil are produced, converted, and consumed, they emit major greenhouse gases (GHGs) to the environment. Conversely, climate change bring around natural assets such as forests and agriculture that absorb GHGs. The reciprocal relationship among the commodity sector and atmospheric alteration is demonstrated by this interaction. This chapter analyzes the impact of NRM on climate change and the impact of climate change on the adaptation strategies of countries, industries, and farmers who extract natural resources. The relationship between climate change and NRM was examined using a literature review, qualitative methods, and content analysis. Mitigation aims to reduce the causes of climate change by minimizing the impact of human activities on the climate system, whereas adaptation aims to reduce the impact of climate change on natural and human systems. NRM determines climate change mitigation and adaptation. Some natural resources must be left untapped to meet mitigation obligations commensurate with limiting global warming and sustainable development goals. This is because climate change considerations must be integrated into resource management.
