Internal Public Relations Management in Organisations in Ghana
摘要
Internal public relationship management which refers to the strategic process of fostering positive interactions and communication within an organisation is often overlooked in the relationship management literature. This practice focuses on engaging and aligning the workforce, promoting a shared vision, and nurturing a harmonious workplace environment. By prioritising employee satisfaction, motivation, and professional growth, organisations can boost productivity, reduce turnover, and enhance overall organisational success. The purpose of the study was to examine the practice of internal public relationship management among organisations in Ghana and the perception of workers on these practices. The study examined how the issues of trust and transparency in organisations, conflict management and internal communication are employed as internal public relationship management tools which ultimately contribute to achieving business objectives for organisations in emerging markets such as Ghana. The study sampled 122 employees drawn from both public and private sector organisations in Ghana to analyse their assessment of relationship management activities that the management of their organisations employ. The study identified that the use of traditional communication channels is still very relevant in organisations. It also identified that clear communication from management was considered a crucial factor in internal public relationship management. The study also revealed that trust and transparency are low in organisations in emerging economies like Ghana and the preferred communication means for conflict resolution is open dialogue. The study saw a positive significant relationship between internal communication practices and the length of time an employee would like to stay in an organisation.
