Leaving the University of Queensland was always going to be hard, after coming halfway around the world with my family to do a job there. However, I felt that many at the university did not value the work I was doing, and I would be better off doing it outside of the university. Hence, I resigned and started pursuing my goals of improving animals’ lives outside the university. It was a bold move, but it paid off.
