Future Vision: Biofilm Global Impact
摘要
In the present scenario, the microbial biofilm has bagged much limelight owing to its huge application in translational research. Biofilms are poised to have a significant global impact in diverse sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sustainability. With the increasing threat of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, biofilms offer a potential solution as they possess inherent resistance against antibiotics. This has sparked a growing interest in developing biofilm-based therapies for various infections. Moreover, the application of biofilms in agriculture holds promise for enhancing crop growth and protecting plants against diseases, thus reducing the need for harmful pesticides. Additionally, the ability of biofilms to degrade pollutants and remediate contaminated sites makes them a valuable tool for promoting environmental sustainability. With ongoing research and development, it is clear that biofilms have the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable future. Nevertheless, advancements in optimizing this technology are essential in order to minimize the suspected and unintended risks of the biofilms toward the society.
