Facial optimization procedures have been designed to address several characteristics, primarily the forehead, nose, lips, and jawline. The lips, being an aesthetic focal point of the lower face, have gender- and age-specific features too [1]. Hence, for a face to be attractive, the philtrum, which is a vertical groove between the nose and the upper lip, has to be short, and the philtral columns and Cupid’s bow should be prominent and symmetrical. This forms the aesthetic unit of the upper lip [ 2, 3].
