PRP for Hair Loss and Hair Restoration Surgery
摘要
Platelet rich plasma (PRP) is a product derived from autologous whole blood that is centrifuged to provide plasma containing high concentrations of platelets. The platelets contain numerous growth factors that can enhance cellular repair and growth. While it was originally used for wound healing, it has been utilized in a wide variety of clinical situations. Studies have demonstrated that it can be useful in regrowing hair in some hair disorders as well as in enhancing wound healing and graft survival in hair transplant surgery. In this chapter the use of PRP is discussed for androgenetic alopecia and several hair diseases. The methods of use, risks, and possible complications are reviewed.
