Coupled Heat and Vortex Flows: Inhomogeneity and Polarization
摘要
In this chapter, we consider the interaction between heat flow and quantized vortices, especially in the case that vortices are polarized. Thus, we are considering that the dynamics of vortex lines is not only production and destruction, as considered in Chap. 5 , but also diffusive motion as a consequence of inhomogeneities, and drift motion, related to the interaction between heat flow and vortices, either as a drag force in nonpolarized vortices, or as an additional lateral force in polarized vortices. This topic is being the subject of experiments and numerical simulations, and has the additional complexity of the presence of small suspended particles used for visualization of the flow.
