Thermodynamics of Vortex Tangles and of Cosmic Strings
摘要
In Chaps. 5, 6, 7, we have studied the geometry and the dynamics of turbulent vortex tangles, and their relation to heat flux and to barycentric velocity, either in the sense that both \(\textbf{q}\) and \(\textbf{v}\) become a source of quantized vortices beyond some critical values, and in the sense that the vortex tangle in turn contributes to the resistance to heat flow and to mass flow. In this chapter, we deal with another aspect of the tangles, namely, their entropy and temperature. This aspect is not needed for the description of heat transport in the superfluid, but it has an interest on its own.
