Learning and Meaning-Making in Youth Development Settings
摘要
As young people grow, they engage with new ideas, people, points of view, cultures, and places. These experiences can lead to learning when young people have opportunities to reflect and make meaning of them. In this chapter, you will learn how to use a positive youth development (PYD) approach in your program to promote and deepen meaning-making for young people. Specifically, you will learn about essential PYD practices that have been shown to significantly boost social and emotional learning outcomes, such as engaging in authentic relationships, promoting peer bonds, expanding interests, sharing power, and facilitating goal management.
