Since the 1980s, the world has witnessed new networking generations every decade. Each new generation is better than its previous counterpart in some ways. The evolution of communication technology will make a huge leap with the advent of the sixth generation of internet architecture. 6G will open a new area of excellence in the hyper-connected global networking experience, seamlessly integrating every aspect of web activity and it is a significant leap forward in data transfer rates as it uses Terahertz (THz), which also intrudes many challenges one of them is secure data transmission which requires new and specialized framework. Skilled hackers can eavesdrop on the transmitting data without much disruption to the signal. To protect the data AI can be used to monitor the transmission which can process large amount of data quickly and can have millisecond response time if an attack occurs. With different ML models other parameters of security can also be covered such as intrusion detection system, automated treat response, etc.; which have their own challenges as high processing power requirements, large amount of data to train the model, which can be sabotaged by the hackers. In this chapter we have discussed the key features of the 6G architecture, the security of the new generation and its potential use cases. Here, we have mainly focused on the concept of utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning, so as to build an excellent security framework for the new generation of 6G architecture.
