Researching Proof Viewed as a Genre of Text
摘要
The linguistic features of proof are more than just a random collection of words and phrases; they also serve as powerful ways for conveying disciplinary meanings and practices. As such, access to proof as a genre of text can operate to equip or exclude students in mathematics classrooms. In this chapter, we introduce a heuristic organization of language resources to frame various avenues for researching proof as a genre of text. We examine a variety of linguistic features that are ripe for further investigation as well as outline some methods and theoretical tools that could contribute to advancing research on the proof genre.
