The three main notions I will try to weave together in this essay are commonscommons, magicmagic and resistance. I aim to examine both how they intertwine in the case of Myanmar and how thinking about them in this particular context can elucidate their relationship to one another in a broader sense. In my writing, I will engage in the mythologies perpetuated in my knowledgeknowledge of Myanmar, not with the intention to rationalize them but with the hopehope [] that they may serve me as a path to understanding the entanglement of these three categories. I begin by writing about the commonscommons as land in the context of dispossessions in Myanmar and move on to practices (practice) of commoning as they take place in the resistance movements after the 2021 military coup. On this path, I necessarily encounter both resistance and magicmagic.
