Individual-oriented translations are the subject of this chapter where security, familiarity and control are attained through developing the individual. In section “ Dispossession ” in Chap. 4 , I have developed conceptual thoughts on the phenomenon that is based on working towards a sense of ontologic security by becoming a capable self. In this chapter, I discuss the case of a young Kurdish Syrian and his self-realization in protracted Turkish exile and during clandestine migrations while reaching maturity on the move. Secondly, follows the case of a woman from Eritrea and her family who have been expelled multiple times and where educational and career opportunities and freedom are key motives for their move to apply for asylum in Germany. Third is the case of two brothers from southern Syria living in an apartment in a small town, at times with their parents. At this juncture, I discuss the “price” of successful arrival and the related generational divide, as well as experiences of racism and exclusion.
