Material: Quality Matters

In any nonfiction, incorporating material written by other authors is indispensable. Called a review of relevant literature, this process is a crucial aspect of research-based nonfiction. The quality of one’s book heavily depends on the material utilised in the book. Collecting appropriate material is a significant task that must be diligently undertaken. This chapter, with the support of examples, outlines methods for sourcing usable materials for the book, identifies the types of sources to be explored and provides guidance on how to search, collect and organise them effectively for the book with the optimal use of time.
