Purpose: The aim of the present study is to explore the impact of Total Quality Management (TQM) and educational innovation practices on quality management results in public Primary and Secondary Schools (PSS). Design/methodology/approach: 522 Greek teachers of PSS participated in a questionnaire survey. The Multiple Linear Regression analysis was applied to process the preliminary data. Findings: The quality management results of PSS are foremost influenced by the TQM practices and secondarily by the teaching and administrative innovation practices. Research limitations/implications: The sample of the teachers who participated in the survey, compared with the population of teachers in Greek public PSS, is extremely small. Moreover, the data collected constitutes subjective evidence. These limitations can be used for the design of future research studies. Practical implications: TQM and teaching and administrative innovation practices can set the foundations for a school to improve its quality management results. Originality/value: The impact of TQM and educational innovation on the quality management results of PSS has not been explored so far.
