Modernization in agriculture and irrigation section around the world has turned out to be a boon for farmers. Utilization of latest geospatial technologies not only predicts the farmers with farm-related alerts but also helps them to make suitable decisions related to the well-being of their farm and better production of crops. Different geospatial tools such as GIS, GPS, and RS use important and specific information that helps not only to increase the crop production along with managing the farm perfectly but also boosts the income of the farmers ensuring them a better livelihood. Spatial technology consists of gathering, assessing, and interpreting of information and its statistical analysis that is associated with geographical places present on the earth. These technologies help to provide a clear-cut picture of different farm needs at different locations. With increasing global warming, current weather pattern has become very uncertain making weather unstable. Such geospatial technologies could predict the forthcoming of any sudden and abnormal weather changes such as extreme rainfall, snowfall, drought, heat waves, or cyclone helping the farmers to take necessary actions required. Such technologies help to reduce environmental pollution, cut the use of excessive external resources, optimize crop growth with resistance to climate changes, and encourage sustainable agricultural methods to reduce environmental challenges. In this chapter, different spatial technological tools that are recently used by the farmers in the agriculture is discussed in detail, along with some of their advantages over conventional farming, disadvantages if any, and their futuristic approach toward better farm management practices to combat climatic changes leading to innovative and smart cropping system.

摘要
