Although numerous attempts have been made to establish comprehensive theoretical foundations for complex systems, it remains a major challenge to identify principles that apply to all of these systems. Consequently, while some apparent complex systems have a clear solution, real complex systems resemble a labyrinth within a labyrinth. This chapter introduces the book’s goals and summarizes its different chapters. Specifically, we highlight the fact that complex systems cannot be completely described, resulting in a persistent labyrinth within a labyrinth.

摘要
