The Evolution of Cybercrime: Challenges and Advancements in Digital Forensics
摘要
Cybercrime has rapidly evolved from simple hacking and online fraud into sophisticated attacks that pose global security risks. This article details the key hurdles digital forensics must navigate when responding to increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks, including technical obstacles related to encrypted data, anti-forensic techniques employed against it and legal/jurisdictional constraints and resource restraints. This article focuses on key technological innovations in this field, such as AI-powered tools, advanced data recovery methods, and cutting-edge forensic software. The study also examines traditional forensic techniques while examining network, live device, and mobile phone forensics as key areas. This review concludes on a positive note regarding emerging threats such as IoT device exploitation and quantum computing/blockchain technology's impact on digital forensics. Furthermore, continuous innovation, international cooperation, and interdisciplinarity remain keys components to making digital forensics an effective weapon against cybercrime.
