The Impact of ESG on Financial Performance: Evidence from Financial Institutions in Gulf Countries
摘要
The study aims to investigate the impact of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance on financial performance in financial institutions within Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Data was gathered from the Thomson Reuters Database, focusing on 38 leading financial institutions in the GCC over a five-year period, from 2019 to 2023. The findings indicated a moderate positive correlation between ESG performance and financial performance among these institutions. Additionally, the study suggests that future research should consider other potential variables that could affect financial performance, such as market conditions and regulatory environments.
