This study explores the importance of digital skills for improving graduate employability in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. With technology rapidly changing the job market, understanding and using these advancements is essential for recent graduates looking to advance their careers. To gather insights, we conducted a questionnaire among graduates in the GCC, focusing on how digital skills impact job opportunities in fields such as digital banking, fintech, graphic design, marketing and more. The results show that graduates who are well-versed in technological trends have a significant advantage when seeking employment. Digital skills are particularly important for adapting to remote work, which has become more common since the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduates who are skilled in digital communication tools and project management software are better prepared to thrive in this new work environment. The study also emphasizes the need for continuous learning. Graduates who keep updating their digital skills are more competitive and can seize new opportunities, whether in traditional jobs or entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, addressing the skills gap in various industries is crucial, as staying current with technology helps graduates meet the demands of modern employers. In summary, integrating digital skills into education is vital for preparing graduates for today’s job market. As employers increasingly seek candidates with strong digital competencies, educational institutions must adapt their programs to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
