摘要

The development of technology has never been faster paced than in our modern era, and in the future will never be as slow as it is now. Due to the evolution of technology, the global market has evolved alongside it as organizations in various industries have had to adapt to a constantly changing market to remain competitive. Now we are seeing the rise of platform economies, where transactions are facilitated by a digital platform connecting buyers and sellers. Platform economies are acquiring more market share, creating different value chains, and influencing traditional organizations’ structure and the dynamics within them. This study aims to gain better insight into what the scope of platform economies influence is on traditional industries through a systematic literature review. Thirty peer reviewed papers were identified from four prominent academic databases. The findings shed light on the influence platform economies have on organizational structures, dynamics regarding labor, value creation, and changing industry norms.
