This chapter explores the formats, layouts, language, and interactive features used to legitimise discourse on gender equality within Nigerian female-run blogs. By contextualising the evolution and typology of blogging, the chapter contrasts global trends with the distinct characteristics of the Nigerian blogosphere. It examines the themes, genres, and structures of Nigerian female blogs, noting their ability to elevate gender-related discussions despite their generalist focus. Contrary to assumptions that niche blogs attract more focused engagement, these general-topic blogs effectively sustain visibility and discourse on gender equality, drawing diverse reader interactions. The chapter also highlights the unique interaction patterns within these digital spaces, particularly the dynamics between blog authors and readers. While blog authors often maintain a distant role, reader interactions in the comment sections become sites of tension and debate, revealing competing ideological positions on gender equality. These exchanges, marked by acceptance, resistance, and conflict, create discursive boundaries that shape collective identities and define dominant and counter-narratives surrounding gender inequality in Nigeria. Ultimately, the chapter demonstrates how Nigerian female blogs serve as platforms for dialogue, reflection, and contestation, influencing the broader conception of gender issues in Nigerian society while illustrating the transformative yet contested potential of digital spaces.
