This study aims to evaluate the ability of an assistive robot to help caregivers manage Prospective Memory (PM) activities in people with Alzheimer's disease (AD) living in an institution. The Prospective Memory tasks corresponded to daily life activities to be carried out 15 min later (time-based PM). Fourteen people with AD diagnosed by a professional and assessed using the MMSE and the BDAE participated in the study. Each participant underwent 2 individual sessions, one managed by the NAO robot and the other by a caregiver. PM tasks included bringing (after a delay) a new person into the office (a staff member or another resident), an object (such as a glass of water or a newspaper), or performing a specific action (like sending an envelope or having a snack). The results show that MP performance was identical when the tasks were performed with the robot or with the caregiver. Additionally, engagement and attention levels were higher with the robot than with the caregiver. These results were discussed in terms of the robots' capabilities to provide valuable assistance in the management of the daily activities of institutionalized patients.
