Establishing a cross-cultural research team was an exciting and complex endeavor. This chapter presents reflections from core team members about the critical moments they believe contributed to their successful engagement in the project. These reflections help identify the key moments of collaboration and organizational strategies that can guide researchers considering establishing and expanding their international collaborations. The chapter also highlights the challenges faced and the lessons learned throughout the 6 years of the SEL IRN’s collaborative journey, which can serve as valuable insights for those interested in global research partnerships. The SEL IRN’s experience demonstrates the importance of fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, facilitating peer-to-peer learning, and promoting collaborative leadership in international research networks.
