Atypical Wounds
摘要
Atypical wounds can be suspected when the wound does not fall into the typical wound category, has an atypical location or appearance, pain out of proportion of the wound size, rapidly evolving necrosis, or shows poor healing on good treatment within 4–12 weeks. Dermatologists and dermatopathologists are key players in diagnosing atypical wounds. Treatment strategies are determined by the specific etiology and often require a multidisciplinary approach, including immunosuppressive therapy, surgical intervention, antibiotic treatment, pain management, and compression therapy. Patient-centered approach is also needed to improve the reduced quality of life and treatment outcomes.
