Eating Disorders
摘要
This chapter will provide a summary of the eating disorders in children and young people, with a focus into three main disorders, namely, anorexia nervosa (AN), bulimia nervosa (BN) and binge eating disorder (BED). There will be a description of signs and symptoms, prevalence, diagnosis and prognosis. Important associated risk and protective factors will be identified in relation to these three eating disorders. There will be a description of the treatments and interventions available, considering best evidence-based practice and the ways in which those supporting children and young people can enhance their practice. The chapter will benefit from the inclusion of insights from lived experience, alongside case studies and helpful further resources.
