Steel Materials After Fabrication
摘要
This chapter reviews the types, frequencies and size distributions of defects that can be produced during welding. Experience has shown that these initial defects can lead to later deterioration including crack initiation and growth. The chapter also considers the role of post weld heat treatment and the effects of residual stress. It also deals with the property of fracture toughness and the tolerance to defects. The development of fabrication and testing standards is also reviewed.
