This study examines the opportunities and challenges of integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) in healthcare in Ghana. IoT technology has the potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery by enabling real-time monitoring, data collection, and analysis, thus enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. Given the diverse healthcare challenges in Ghana, including resource constraints and the need for improved healthcare access, the adoption of IoT presents both promising opportunities and significant hurdles. A quantitative approach was utilized, surveying 155 healthcare workers, including medical doctors, nurses, and healthcare administrators, to gauge their perspectives on the effectiveness of IoT applications in improving healthcare services. The results indicate that IoT has substantial potential to improve patient monitoring, streamline operations, and enhance data-driven decision-making. Most healthcare workers recognize the benefits of IoT in providing timely and accurate patient information, which can lead to better clinical outcomes. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, data privacy concerns, technical complexities, and the need for specialized training were identified as barriers to successful IoT implementation. The study underscores the necessity for strategic planning, investment in infrastructure, and capacity building to leverage IoT's full potential in Ghana's healthcare sector.
