Governments and private sector organisations worldwide are increasingly acknowledging the strategic importance of artificial intelligence (AI) and are actively investing in its research, development, and application. Amid rapid technological progress, managing AI and the dynamics of human-AI interactions is becoming crucial. The extensive adoption of AI creates both opportunities and challenges for managers, who must also be accountable for addressing the complexities associated with AI deployment. This paper analysed cybernetics theory to propose a framework for human-AI interactions, offering managers guidance on developing, implementing, and governing AI technologies in alignment with human values. With its interdisciplinary perspective, cybernetics provides a basis for understanding human-machine interaction through processes of communication and control, aiming for self-organisation, evolution, and continuous adaptation to system needs. This study aims to assess the potential of cybernetics theory as a framework for analysing and understanding human-AI interactions within the context of AI management.
