Scaling invariance is a clear indication a system undergoes a phase transition. A phase transition from limited to unlimited diffusion is discussed in a dissipative standard mapping. To characterize this transition, we solved the diffusion equation, finding the probability density to observe a given particle with a specific action/energy at a given instant of time. Moreover, we identified (i) the order parameter and (ii) the elementary excitation that affects the transport of particles in the system.

摘要

Scaling invariance is a clear indication a system undergoes a phase transition. A phase transition from limited to unlimited diffusion is discussed in a dissipative standard mapping. To characterize this transition, we solved the diffusion equation, finding the probability density to observe a given particle with a specific action/energy at a given instant of time. Moreover, we identified (i) the order parameter and (ii) the elementary excitation that affects the transport of particles in the system.
