The objective of the chapter is to summarize the contributions of psychologists working in hospital settings in Latin America to the growth of health psychology. This includes the development of the field, the integration of professionals in this context, the consolidation of the area, training, and accreditation. The chapter also covers the contributions of psychologists to the quality of care in medical settings, protocols of assessment, and psychological intervention in hospital contexts. It will also include examples from psychology-related research in hospital contexts and medical settings in Latin America.
