Clinical cases of hepatic steatosis have increased dramatically worldwide. Contributing factors include obesity, insulin resistance, poor diet, and sedentary lifestyle, among others. In patients with low or no alcohol consumption, hepatic steatosis can be fatal, as most cases are asymptomatic during the treatable phase of the disease, making effective treatment challenging once detected. This study provides a tool for physicians to detect liver fat and offer timely treatment. Additionally, it aims to establish a database to gather Mexican statistics on the condition.

摘要

Clinical cases of hepatic steatosis have increased dramatically worldwide. Contributing factors include obesity, insulin resistance, poor diet, and sedentary lifestyle, among others. In patients with low or no alcohol consumption, hepatic steatosis can be fatal, as most cases are asymptomatic during the treatable phase of the disease, making effective treatment challenging once detected. This study provides a tool for physicians to detect liver fat and offer timely treatment. Additionally, it aims to establish a database to gather Mexican statistics on the condition.
