As technology advances, humans are going beyond earth and placing their strides in space. By placing and installing satellites around earth’s orbit we have shown that how much advanced we have become with time. One important feature of free space satellite communication is Inter Satellite Optical Wireless Communication (IsOWC) which provides the method for satellite to interact with each other. And with passing time it is becoming very important process as no of satellites around earth’s orbit are continuously increasing. This paper aims to find the best low pass filter used in IsOWC receiver by optimizing the parameter like cutoff frequencies. We analyze the performance of various low pass filters at the receiver side and the effect of their cut off frequencies on the Q-factor and BER values. Cut off frequencies are varied from 0.3 times of bitrate (BR) to 0.9 times of bitrate to examine its effect on the Q-factor and BER values. Simulation results shows that 0.5 times BR and 0.6 times BR gives maximum Q-factor and minimum BER values respectively. The Q-factor of Bessel, Gaussian and Raised cosine filter are almost similar and better compared to another filter types.
